PACE OF PLAY
Clocks have been placed at various location throughout the golf course. The
purpose of these clocks is to ensure golfers are aware of their pace of play.
How the clocks work?
When a group tees off # 1, the starter will inform them of the time
they left # 1 tee.
The first on course clock is situated on # 4 tee. It is estimated it should take 45 minutes to play the first 3 holes. The clock on # 4 tee
will be set 45 minutes behind the clocks at the starter’s hut. If your group teed off # 1 at 1:00 p.m. when you arrive on tee #4, if the clock is reading 1:00 p.m. or earlier this means your group is
on schedule. If the clock is later than 1:00 p.m. this means your group is behind schedule and your group should then speed up their pace of play.
Tips and Hints to
keep the Pace of Play
This information is distributed to educate all golfers of their responsibilities while playing Bally Haly Golf Course. Please take a few moments to review the information.

PLAY READY GOLF
Golf Legend Tommy Bolt is credited with saying; “If you have to throw a club, throw it ahead, so you don’t have to go back for it…” While the Pace of Play
Committee does not condone his actions, we applaud his efficiency.
The Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) Rules of Golf states, “In the interest of all, players should
play without delay.” Here are some ideas on how to play ready. If…
...On The Tee
- Check with the Pro Shop at least 10 minutes prior to your tee
time.
- Have your Score Card marked and ready prior to play.
- Have extra Balls, Tees, Ball Markers and Repair Tools readily available in your pocket.
- Mark on your Golf Ball so you know it is yours.
- Appoint a “Captain” for your group, to take charge and keep your group on pace.
- Be
ready to hit your shot.
- Play Ready Golf.
- Shorter hitters should hit first.
- Tee off as soon as the group ahead is safely out of
range.
- Be Quiet and still, using proper etiquette while others are hitting.
- Watching your partners hit, makes it easier to find errant shots.
...Tee To Green
- Plan your shot and select your club before you are over your ball.
- Get your yardage before it is
your turn to play.
- Go to your ball without delay.
- Perform your pre-shot routine while others are hitting if possible.
- Hit when
ready and safe to do so.
- Hit your shot before helping others look for their ball.
- Use the Provisional Ball rule, when you think your shot may be lost or
out of bounds.
- Play Ready Golf.
- If carts must remain on paths, take several clubs to play the next shot.
- Limit search for lost
balls to 3 minutes.
- Be aware of who is away.
- Stay close to the group ahead… not the group behind.
- Novice Golfers should use double
par as a guideline to pick up and putt out on the green.
...On The Green
- Place your clubs between the Green and the next Tee.
- Take your putter and your chipping clubs to avoid going back to your bag.
- Read your putt before it is your turn to play.
- Opt to putt out
instead of marking the ball when you have a short putt.
- Rake the sand for a fellow player, if you are not the next to play.
- The closest player should
tend to the Flagstick.
- After holing out, leave the green IMMEDIATELY and proceed to the next Tee.
- Complete your scorecard at the next Tee.
...At The Hut
- Keep your visit less than 5 minutes long.
- Pre-order after #2 if you can.

TEE TIME BOOKINGS
CANCELLATION OF TEE TIMES
GREEN FEE POLICY
EARLY MORNING PLAY
Members wishing to take advantage of teeing off prior to the
first avaialble tee time may do so under the following guidelines.
- Members may tee off #1 no later than a 1/2 before the first scheduled tee time. e.g. no member may tee off # 1 after
6:00 a.m. if the first scheduled tee time is 6:30 a.m.
- All early morning golfers must give way to the course maintenance employees.
- If a group would like to tee off within a 1/2 hour of
the first scheduled tee time they may do so but only off #10 tee and they must give way to any other golfers and the course maintenance employees.
- No guest will be able to play early morning
golf unless approved by the General Manager.
COURSE CLOURES
The Golf Course Superintendent has the authority to close the
golf course if neccesary for such reasons as heavy rain or frost.
If the golf course is closed due to frost the group with the first scheduled tee time for the day will be the first
group to tee off #1 after the frost delay with the remaining groups following in sequence. For example, if you have the first scheduled time for 7:00 a.m. and the course opens at 9:00
a.m. you will be the first group to tee off # 1. In the event of frost delays the starter may also start groups on other holes but there is no gaurentee the group will be able to tee off #1 after
completing hole #18.
If the golf course is closed due to heavy rain and/or wet conditions tee times are honoured based on the schedule for the day. For example, if heavy rains prevent the
golf course from opening in the morning and it reopens at 1:00 pm the group with the 1:00 pm start time will be the first group to tee off # 1 and the tee sheet will be followed for the remainder of
the day. The starter will attempt to get other groups on the golf course on # 1 and may also start groups on other holes but there is no gaurentee those groups will be able to start on #1 after the
completion of hole # 18.
